Baby Book Club: House for Hermit the Crab

It was a hot day today and probably all our mommies wanted to crawl into a shady crab house ... but many braved the heat and came out to play!

Storytime and crafts were based around Eric Carle's book A House for Hermit Crab from our momstown Under the Sea monthly theme.

Baby Book Club is a chance for our little ones (babies or big kids) to develop their literacy skills... read the book before the event, then come on out to read it again and participate in some fun all-ages activities.

Plus, there's always time to chill on a blanket in the shade and connect with other moms and babies! Starting next month we are going to be at Lowville Park instead of Rotary Park in an effort to find a bit more scenic and shady fun.

Thanks to Brenda for pinch hitting at storytime and Sam for taking pics for us today!!

Art in the Park!!!

Paint, paint and more paint!

Our momstown seasonal favourite "Picasso's in the Park" opened today and on such a beautifully sunny day!!

Both momstown Milton and momstown Burlington gathered at Lowville park to explore the sensory elements of paint. I think the mamas explored too (I know I came home covered in paint also!).

The weather was so great for a picnic and play in the playground too.

Join us next month for our June Picasso's event (and the creek will be warm enough then to wash the paint right off us!).

Mother's Day in the Park

momstown Milton was busy in the park today prepping our special gifts for Mother's Day for grandmas, and maybe even for ourselves!

Our new Event Co-ordinator Kristi Budsworth did an awesome job of prepping a great morning for us all with our themed spring crafts, fun parachute time and storytime with Eric Carle's Does a Kangaroo have a Mother, too? Here's Kristi with her sweet Campbell - look for Kristi as the lead at many of momstown Milton events this summer!
Proud kids planted beautiful flowers for mom and decorated the pots.Psst - don't tell Lauren I took a picture of the flower she planted me as she hid it under her bed as a surprise! She thinks I had my eyes closed while helping her I guess...

Great idea for a flower bouquet here as well! Toilet paper roll glued to the back of the plate as the "vase", then the kids painted the plate, stuck Easter grass in the vase then made beautiful coffee filter flowers with pipe cleaner stems. Voila! Wall worthy art! Join us later this month for Baby Book Club when we explore the 'Under the Sea' theme!

Still curious about momstown membership? We hold 25+ events monthly for our Milton members and all at just a $45/year fee per family. Join now so you can enjoy the summer with us! Click here to register!

Razzle Dazzle Field Trip!

Our group took a trip south to Oakville to visit Dazzle Art and mixed and mingled with the momstown Oakville group.

Very cute play area complete with interactive sensory bins, art supplies and a great clean open space. Our monkeys all loved it!

Thanks Oakville Janet for also setting up the party room just for momstown with painted butterflies and foam doorhangers and for the home baked muffins and coffee!! yum!
