Weekly Toddler/Preschooler Playgroup is a blast!

One of our most popular and consistent events is the weekly Wednesday momstown Toddler/Preschooler playgroup. Geared at similar aged kids it offers an excellent opportunity for both the energy driven monkeys to socialise and interact in a casual forum and for our mamas to meet up regularly and form lasting friendships.


Our moms rotate homes or visit places in Milton together and have great fun every Wednesday morning.

Waddle, waddle Penguins!

P is for Penguin! That was the name of our fun momstown event on Friday!

Almost everyone dressed in black and white to show off their penguin colours. While the babies chilled on our mats, the toddlers & preschoolers made some penguin pictures and collages.

Everyone was given a penguin "egg" to use for the penguin waddle race. Mamas with babes in arms demonstrated first how to walk and protect your egg! Laughably funny to watch and fun had by all!

Now, getting the toddlers & preschoolers to do this was darn right impossible, from the waddles with an egg to even just lining up together. So their "eggs" were mostly tossed and chased down the hall which at least exhausted them enough for circle time around the parachute.

We bounced the 'eggs' on the parachute, sang some penguin songs and finger plays to learn a bit more about how penguins slip & slide and their coats of black & white.

Thanks to all who came out and especially to our new members! We had several newbies out and it's great to see you jumping in and getting involved right off that bat. As we all know, you just need to jump in as soon as possible and then you see the great atmosphere our moms bring and you'll be inspired to come out more and more after that initial attendance.

momstown's Fire Hall Field Trip!!

Off to the Milton Fire Hall momstown went on Friday! Thanks so much to the Milton Fire Department for hosting our special field trip for some very excited youngsters!

A great opportunity for mini momstowners to check out the fire truck first hand, try on the uniform and even meet Sparky the Dire Safety mascot!

Great Mama's Supper Club this month! We had new members come on out and learn about momstown while enjoying our pad thai and tons of mama chatter!

Cool event: Snowman & Mittens!

Nothing quite like celebrating winter indoors! For our Snowmen & Mittens momstown themed event we brought the real snow indoors for our event to create a little 'sensory' corner which all the kids loved -- squeezing snow through their finger tips, squealing from the chill, trying to figure out HOW this snow got inside!?

We had fun with our mitten & snowflake crafts (even the wee ones got a shot at the glue!). The giggles really came out with the momstown parachute and the tissue paper "snowballs" that the kids & babies threw on top and bounced all over the parachute (& threw at one another - gently!). Man, I love those giggles!!!

Moms are cookin' again!

We might just have some addicts in our group here... hooked on Just Add Heat and the whole meal prep idea! momstown Milton had another event there and we whipped up dozens of delicious meals to bring home to our freezers to save us time and answer the dinner need when creativity is lacking!

Getting to bond over homemade gingerbread wasn't a bad addition either to the evening! Thanks for having us Sanyo!
